Inaugurated in July 2018, the ORMA Museum was conceived as an element at the origins and roots of the Valle Trompia valley and of time, with the task of handing down the knowledge of findings made in the local area. From here comes the acronym ORMA, to identify the archaeological museum of the valley where:
O stands for Officina, or Workshop, as a tribute to, and recollection of the Via del Ferro and its iron industry.
R is for the roots of space and time.
M is for Museum.
A is for Archaeology.
The roots of the valley and of time are also referred to by the evocative ethnographic collection by Costanzo Caim, which has been set up in the Medieval Tower, once a watchtower with civic functions.
The ORMA Museum is located inside the Antico Broletto in Mondaro, a fifteenth-century structure that is built along the same lines as the "Broletti Lombardi" of the thirteenth century, with adjoining exposed stonework tower.
Via S. Giovanni, 1, 25060 Mondaro BS
Perched on a hill overlooking the town, Brescia’s castle is one of Italy’s most striking fortifications and the second largest in Europe. Evidence of its different dominations may still be seen today.
