Lucignano

Lucignano, recently elected one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, is the pearl of the Valdichiana with its evocative and romantic views. There are many artworks in the city museum and in the churches, such as those by Luca Signorelli and the Triumph of Death. Among the artworks, be sure not to miss the Tree of Love, a rare example of a gold reliquary built between 1350 and 1471.
Among its many agricultural products, currently Lucignano is generating interest in the cultivation of saffron, a high-quality, long-life elixir. And then there is the famous meat sold by the old butchers who present local, farm-to-table products and cuts.
4 quarters, or districts, over 100,000 flowers, and floats set up by expert hands… Maggiolata is all of this! A top event in the Lucignano area that comes to life every year in the village, and it attracts tourists from all over Italy. The entire community is involved in the assignment of the Grifo d’Oro, the trophy for the best float. In addition to all of this, the area offers vineyard excellence, with wineries and all the typical products coming from the surrounding area.
